it's just us
4:30 AM
I was created 3 years ago but the other 3 tups in our system are 8 years old (edited)
4:30 AM
been in the community for a long time
4:31 AM
it's less "presence imposition" though and more like an effect that should come with imposition in general
4:31 AM
feelin' like there's really someone there
Avatar
I ask because I am curious as to the origin of the term.
Avatar
both touch and visual imposition make it pretty well
4:31 AM
just us
Avatar
Ah, you mean to say you came up with it yourselves.
Avatar
since our visualization is poor but we mostly only do the visual part, we noticed the sense of presence is actually a really big deal
4:32 AM
even without the other senses to otherwise tell us one of the others is there, it still feels like they're there, and like we're not alone in that place
Avatar
There was a guide a few years back that covered such a classification of imposition. I do not hear the term often, except that guide.
Avatar
and since that's such a nice feeling to back up all the others I think it's the most important
Avatar
yep, I recall mention of that in your switching guide
4:32 AM
moving your sense of presence elsewhere
Avatar
even if your other imposition senses are bad, if you've got the sense of presence down it fills in all the gaps
4:33 AM
huh
4:33 AM
I guess those do go together
4:33 AM
never really connected them
Avatar
That is an interesting connection to make.
Avatar
I wouldn't say moving our sense of presence in imposition is the same as moving in/out of the body/"driver's seat" in switching though
4:34 AM
also that's only our own personal (logical and simple) symbolism for switching anyway
4:35 AM
did you ever participate much on the forum Data?
Avatar
I did not. Host found it distasteful.
Avatar
ok, we don't know you then
Avatar
I do still have my account there from the few times I visited.
Avatar
Host found IRC distasteful l0l
4:36 AM
That is where you might recognize us. That and the subreddit.
Avatar
IRC is for chat and forum is for discussion imo
4:37 AM
subreddit is for newbie/not-advanced questions I'd say
4:37 AM
it's just an ocean of the same simple stuff being asked over and over
4:37 AM
'cus of how Reddit works (or doesn't work)
Avatar
There was a brand of elitism in the forums that host found not helpful to the development of tulpa theories.
Avatar
Though I do agree, the subreddit does contain mostly beginner questions.
Avatar
sry got distracted
4:38 AM
uhh, idk where else you're gonna discuss new tulpa theory stuff than the forum..
Avatar
I mostly do through my own personal networks, not through public discourse, though occasionally I do pop my head in.
4:39 AM
thought you meant like community tulpamancy
4:39 AM
yeah I guess if you have friends who are as into it as you
4:39 AM
our system is more interested in just kinda helping people
Avatar
I do mean community tulpamancy, though through more personalized questioning of experiences and related data.
4:40 AM
Once ours was the same, though lately we have been more interested in real life affairs.
Avatar
we 'been sticking around the forum for a little over 4 years really really actively just to help people who have questions
Avatar
I merely ask questions when I sense there is something to be gathered .-. I do not provide as much assistance as I did circa 2015.
Avatar
yeh I say we stuck around 'cus Lumi already had 3 tulpas before finding the forum
4:41 AM
and like it helped just kinda establish it as "a thing" but that was mostly it
4:42 AM
we coulda left 'cus our beliefs are pretty satisfactory at explaining things I'd say
4:42 AM
but we like helping people
Avatar
It was that with us as well. I predate the tulpamancy community by quite a few years. It was extremely grounding to find a place to share experiences to normalize information.

@Kaliya in my experience "presence imposition" is a pretty common term
Avatar
is it ??
Avatar
It is?
Avatar
awesome!
Avatar
it is now
Avatar
pretty sure we started it x3
Avatar
Do you know when it became more of a popular term, @bduddy #Diana#?
Avatar
well 2015 is probably when we first started saying it here and there
4:43 AM
we do have a lotta influence on the forum-going community
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 8/23/2018 4:43 AM
🤷
4:43 AM
that's when I started
4:43 AM
mostly on /r/tulpas
Avatar
I never got why people say the forum is too stifling or bad for discussion or stuff like that
Avatar
There was a guide in 2014 that used the term as well.
Avatar
you just gotta throw your opinions in discussions
4:44 AM
like more than one thread
Avatar
people say that?
Avatar
stick around for a while and maybe it'll pick up weight..
4:45 AM
yes
4:45 AM
like Data
Avatar
the discussion on the forum seems pretty good tbh
Avatar
I am unsure as to the state of the forums currently. I frequent the discord servers now.
Avatar
forum's pretty close to dead
Avatar
Ah, that is my host's opinion. I share no such view.
Avatar
we try'n keep it active but it's nothing compared to pre-2015
4:46 AM
There was a brand of elitism in the forums that host found not helpful to the development of tulpa theories. this @Srn347
4:46 AM
guess I missed the "elitism" part, I'm kinda tired
4:46 AM
elitism in general, or with the Guides/Articles?
4:46 AM
the GAT always came off as overly critical I think
4:46 AM
people often got offended
Avatar
Not in general, mostly with the GAT iirc. It was 2015. That was a long time ago now.
Avatar
GAT's totes ded
Avatar
it's kinda understandable though, guides and articles could have a huge influence on a beginner's tulpa development and stuff
Avatar
yeah they aren't unreasonable, just critical
4:47 AM
maybe we should join GAT actually, idk how dead it actually is
Avatar
It is concerning that a group should be given reign over what information is deemed acceptable. Information should be freely available, with adequate guidance to navigate such information.
Avatar
other people can participate in the approval process too
4:48 AM
and they do
4:48 AM
we do
4:48 AM
you just don't get to literally vote on its approval
4:48 AM
but at this point it'd probably be easy to apply
Avatar
Most likely. I am unfamiliar with a good deal of what goes on in the community as of late.
Avatar
anyways discussion was always the forum's strong point
4:49 AM
but all the regulars got bored and left by now
Avatar
the most active people are new members like Srn
Avatar
It has been like that in the community. Older members do not often continue to participate.
Avatar
not a lotta people enjoy sticking around just to help answer questions others have
